To start 2025, PHSL asked “What is the greatest barrier for pharmacists to manage chronic diseases in place of physicians?“. Poll responses are as follows:
- Legislative support (28%)
- Reimbursement (46%)
- Additional certification (19%)
- Physician collaboration (10%)
- Availability of pharmacist time (0%)
The majority of respondents identify reimbursement as the greatest barrier for pharmacists to manage chronic diseases. Legislative support, additional certification, and physician collaboration are the other responses. No respondent for this poll determined pharmacist time as the greatest barrier compared to the selected options.
